I have female ancestors for whom there are records such as census records for the time before they were married. If I have their birth surname and their married surname fields filled in correctly, these records throw up a conflict in the surname. Essentially the system will not accept that women generated records before they were married, and I am forced to pretend that the name on the record is wrong if I don't want to replace their married name with their birth surname. Am I missing some function on the system here?

Geni Support Team Hi Catriona, if it is correct, you can simply ignore or hide the conflict.

Catriona M Watson O.k., just seems weird to have something as basic as this unresolvable.

Geni Support Team You will find the option to hide or ignore when you review the source conflict on the profile. Once you select it, the conflict will resolve and no longer appear on the profile.
