Can’t edit my uncle’s profile to add his date of death
I originally added my uncle and he died last year. I don’t want family members to be sent email reminders from Geni about his upcoming birthday. Why can I no longer edit his profile?
Hi Alison, we're sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle. If you do not see the option to edit his profile, then it is likely he had claimed his account with his email address. You may report his profile as Deceased via the Actions button on his profile. Once you submit the report, all birthday and anniversary reminders will be stopped. After our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to unclaim the account so that you may update it to reflect his passing.
