I have a few pending merges that I've approved but they haven't gone through as the other person hasn't been active in probably a decade on the website or hasn't been notified - now the trees are pretty messed up until these are resolved.
Is there a bypass?

It depends on the birth date for those profiles. If they are born more then 150 years ago, post in https://www.geni.com/discussions/245980 and give a link to those profiles there. If they are more recent try reporting the managers as inactive (from their profile pages using the Actions menu). Geni will try to find an extra manager for the private profiles managed by the reported user. If Geni can find an additional manager you can try to contact him/her.
Thanks for the response. I went ahead and marked that person as inactive and hopefully the next person can pick this up. If not this is going to be a real problem... kind of annoying since the solution is so damn easy
