To remove an incorrect relationship:
- Click "Edit Profile" from the profile with the wrong relationship
- Click the "Relationships" tab
- Click the checkbox in the "Remove" column to the right of relationship
- Click "Remove"
NOTE: In some cases you may be told that you cannot remove a relationship because doing so would split the tree. In this case, consider whether you can do either of the following:
- First connect this person (or their family member) to their correct relative, thereby creating a cycle (see https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229703027-How-to-marry-cousins). You should then be able to remove the incorrect relationship.
- Instead of removing an incorrect parent/child relationship, you may be able to set the child's parents directly (see https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229703207-How-can-I-update-parents)
