I have been through all of this bs.. the truth is, they are deceptive about what happens to your tree after you upload it. They don't make it clear that all of these other people are going to be adding and subtracting in it, or that you can never delete your tree.
this really needs to be looked into.
Hi Kerry, the goal of Geni is to create a single family tree of the world through collaboration. We call this the World Family Tree, which currently connects over 170 million people to a single family tree.
If you are looking to maintain a private, isolated family tree under your full control, then Geni may not be the right place for you. We suggest building your tree at MyHeritage, which may provide the controls you desire.
