I have seen people that are born in the 1700's, for example 1775 put as private. This should not be allowed, these people has many descendants, not only the person who writes up this person and its relationship to other people.
Its easy to impose an age limit on privacy.

And yes, you are correct - it is a misuse of privacy. Privacy is to protect living people and their close family, not lock people out of a tree. I agree with such a date enforcement.
