I am confused about how to get started. Do I begin with my earliest ancestor and then add his descendants as children, perhaps? I was starting from myself and working backwards, but there is no facility for adding anyone before a father. I have information on six generations of the Fry family from 1807 which I feel may be of interest to others, but I don't understand how to enter them all!

Jeff, Geni Curator You should see yellow arrows in the tree view to build the tree up.
I'd also suggest enabling Adobe Flash if you don't have it enabled. The Flash tree is much better then the HTML tree (https://www.geni.com/family-tree/html#).
