Cannot send project invitations to other Geni users - went broken last night

After sending an invitation (Select Actions > Add Collaborators) I successfully get a message "NN has been invited to collaborate on the project."

But the user I invited does not get my invitation.

When I select Pending Requests > Sent the invitation is not visible there either.

  This is still broken.

  What should I do?

  Should I create another user account for myself just for inviting purposes?
