My brother Mario Fortier died on the 1st of february last, and I am unable to enter this death on his profile
The usual problem for not being able to change a profile to deceased is that the person was a Geni user or invited user him/her self. You identify this easily by the color of the picture frame in tree view and that the profile itself have a "Send Message" instead of contact managers.
To be able to change him/her to deceased you have to ask customer support to close him/her account.
Go to his/hers profile and select Report/Deceased in the Actions menu. If you are a close relative you usually does not need to supply any documentation. You usually get a response within a couple of work days.
I do not see this option for my uncle, who died 14 August 2017

I started this family tree and added people but for some reason I can no longer amend what I am supposed to be managing!
