I joined a week ago and am currently using the free version. Not matter what I try to do I am directed to the sign up for the free trial for Geni-Pro page. I am unable to use the site as I did last week. Does this mean the site is not actually free?

Job Waterreus No you can use it as a basic user, but you can only use the Geni search screen to access profiles you and your collaborators manage. Public profiles can be found using an external search engine like Google (if you use Google add site:geni.com to your search string)
if you can use 2 sessions you can also use a session where you are not logged on to search with that Geni search screen and use the other logged on session to access the profiles.
