Why I can not change in the horizontal family tree view for the number of ancestors. It always shows only 4 ancestors. All variations have already been tried but don't work.

T Kuisma I totally agree! My proposal is to add a parameter for adjusting the view to get more or less generations visible. Many of us use large screens with Geni, so there would be plenty of space for larger trees, and that would add usability of pedigree view a lot!

Geni Support Team Hi, thanks for your feedback. Please note the pedigree view only displays the focus node and four generations of direct ancestors.
If you would like to see more generations of direct ancestors, you can switch to the standard tree view and update your tree preferences. Here you can choose how many generations of ancestors and descendants to display and check the box if you want to view only direct ancestors.
HTML tree
If you are using the HTML tree, click on the gear icon to the left edge of the tree to view your Tree Preferences.
Then you can customize how many generations to display and/or view direct ancestors only.
Flash tree
If you are using the Flash tree, click on the 'Preferences' tab at the bottom of the page to adjust the number of generations to display and/or view direct ancestors only.
