One of the Geni offerings is a set of statistical charts through which Geni users can find out a number of things about their immediate Family, Blood Relatives and Ancestors. One of those statistics is Country of Birth. The problem, though, is that many users leave that field blank, particularly in the cases of pre-Revolutionary America and the pre-unification United Kingdom. With those fields blank, the statistics available are very incomplete. I would like to propose that all pre-Revolutionary American profiles have "Colonial America" in the Country of Birth field (though I recognize that it isn't technically a country) and that all pre-unification British profiles use England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland in the field.

Erica Howton The “i” pop up screen could quote Encyclopedia Britannica:
https://www.britannica.com/topic/American-colonies
American colonies, also called thirteen colonies or colonial America, the 13 British colonies that were established during the 17th and early 18th centuries in what is now a part of the eastern United States.

to be determined would be names in the country field for other European colonies such as New Netherland.

Erica Howton Comment from Dan Cornett:
To me, the 'best' solution for filling in location fields is for MH, as the owner of Geni, to establish a relationship with FamilySearch.org to be able to use their historical locations lookup ...
a) They already have tons of locations with dates associated and fairly-well validated names.
b) They have a whole process in place for adding to and updating the locations so that the names have a rather high degree of "agreement" and reliability.
See: https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/ to try it 'by hand'.
