I added my mother, but now there are two for her but it says they are siblings of the same name. I know she has no sibling by the same name! The system will not allow me to merge or delete.
Please help me.
The help articles do nothing for me.

It looks like your mother claimed her profile.
There is a setting https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy that she could use to allow her near family to edit her profile. Otherwise she is the only one who can merge the profiles.
