Problem uploading photos

Hello -

 

I'm not able to upload any photos. I have tried using both Chrome and Firefox, latest versions of these browsers (on Mac osX). I also updated my flash plug-in.

 

If I used the simple uploader, it just says "Sending" but nothing happens. If I use the regular photo uploader, as soon as I select the file on disk, it disappears and no photo appears.

 

Any suggestions on how to debug this?

  I havn't been able to upload either, (neither photos or JPEG or even a message to help)  and unfortunately GENI doesn't seem to have detected the difficulty.

  Doesn't work for me with EXPLORER either BUT it does with SAFARI. I remember having to abandon EXPLORER in the early 2000's for SAFARI for a problem very particular to me, so I'm happy to say that this time SAFARI comes to my rescue after years of faithful services from FIREFOX.

   

  GENI does some things that are troublesome to a very small number of users I guess.

  You have probably blocked Java

  Maybe, but if I did I don't know how.       How do I un block Java ?.

  Depends on your browser, - usually it is a browser setting.

  Anyhow, as far as I remember now, Geni have removed all Java usage now (it was in the the advanced uploader).
  I did by the way upload some photos myself using Google Chrome yesterday without any problems using the simple uploader..

  The general problems with uploads is usually your own security setting wether you allow your browser to access your PC.

  Yeah, I don't think Geni uses Java anymore.  As Bjorn stated, it was part of the advanced uploader, which I no longer see.  JavaScript on the other hand, would be used and can be blocked by extensions like noscript, ublock origin, umatirx, etc.  I've been uploading pictures all week without issue.

  SAFARI works for uploading pictures of all dimensions BUT the 2007 version not compatible with GMAIL and others.

  Explorer and Firefox can upload to 486K, ... but not a 507k and greater.

  My Internet provider says file uploads are only blocked after 25M.

  Finally CHROME works well on 1-3M pictures and to date with everything else.

  So I'm back in business.

  Just thought it might interest some.

  I have loaded pics on Geni for years as recent as yesterday .  Today it stopped and get error message with no explanation.  Is there a limit?  Any ideas?
