You have a bug. I enter and re-enter data and it does not stay in the system!

I am entering data on my father, who is alive, and thus, I am not entering his name.  I am entering "No Name Alive."  I enter the city, province and country where he was born, which is in Cuba, and the system also is not saving the data even after I click on "save."  I have entered/re-entered the data approximately 5 times now, to no avail.  Please advise what the glitch is.

Your system appears to require Google address information; if I understood that correctly, it's ridiculous, since I have no idea what street address he was born at!  Furthermore, my father was born pre-Castro era, when cities and provinces were called by one name, but after Castro took power, some of those names were changed.  I can only enter what the city and province was called at the time of my parents' birth.

  Several factors applies here.
  Since the date is a single field it have to be processed before you can save, so click outside the field after entering it to see if the system parses it correct. The other factor is your own setting on the preferred date format, - https://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization 
  To ensure that the system does mix day and month I recommend spelling the month name in your selected language, either in short or long form.
  
  When it comes to locations, it is correct that Geni uses the Google map API to help users entering locations, but it is up to yourself to use it or not. If you disagree on the result or want to change it you should click on the edit location details to fill in whatever you want without getting any suggestions from the system. You should however be aware that YOUR own browser may suggest values you have entered earlier, but that is a personal setting on your PC/browser configuration so you cannot blame Geni for that.
