Jeff, Geni Curator You should be able to edit your surname. https://www.geni.com/profile/edit_basics
On other profiles within your family group, there should also be an edit option, unless it is claimed by another Geni member. If there is another "you" on the site, then we'd want to merge the duplicate profiles to give you access and control of that branch (1 profile for 1 person).

Nicholas Jeremy Pursell Thank you, i have corrected the spelling of my surname but it it is still wrong for my wife, parents, son and other more distant relations who may or may not be alive. Who will correct them? -
Jeff, Geni Curator You can do that yourself as well. Probably easiest to do it in tree view. https://www.geni.com/family-tree/
Each profile should have an edit link on it. Just click that and edit it as you did your profile.

Jeff, Geni Curator One suggestion I would consider is when you edit the names of ancestors that may have documents that use the spelling "Purcell", which appears to be the case in at least the 1901 Census of your grandfather William and his family, you can add that alternate spelling to the "Also Known As" section. That way you get "matches" on those names and if someone is searching for them, those names are indexed.
