duplicate profiles

I was notified by Geni that there was a duplicate profile with my information. After reviewing the info on both profiles....it was suggested that merging the two profiles would make for a better "tree". Well, that could not be further from the truth! Now my profile states that I have 2 sets of parents! All merging did was create duplicate information in the one profile instead of 2 separate profiles.

The "new duplicate" profile was created by a distant relative that I do not know. My original profile was created several years ago by my brother. I did send a message via Geni to this cousin about creating duplicate & inaccurate profiles.

How do I correct my profile and delete duplicate information from the "tree"?

I wish to delete the duplicate profile, but since I do not "manage" that profile, I can not.

I have the same problem when I went to view my sisters tree when I came back to my tree it was gone I then started a new tree now ir seems im following myself how do I get back to the first tree

Mark & Tamara, once you have completed the first merge, you need to click the yellow triangles to resolve any remaining duplicates. Tamara, I've gone ahead and done this for you. The only duplicate I left was for your brother, since he's been online recently, he can merge his own profile by clicking the blue icon below his name in tree view.

Mark, I'll go ahead and start the merge your multiple trees (looks like three of them).

Mark, I've finished merging your trees. You both should review https://www.geni.com/list/data_conflicts for any potential name or date conflicts that arouse from merging two trees.

Mark, you may also want to use mixed case when working in the tree. Hold your shift key while pressing a letter to use the upper case (or toggle caps lock) to provide the common mixed case you see in names.

Hi All

Please help me to delete the duplicate. I merged my husband's family tree to my tree. After I did that I have a wife in my name and a husband. When I move my wife to me as same person, I get message that cannot merge the profile with her wife. I tried so many ways to delete and no success. Is there any expert to help me?

Trying to solve a duplicate profile of my cousin, I "created" a duplicate profile for his son, the son's wife and their child. Now I'm afraid to merge the new duplicate profiles and create new problems. Could you help me?
