outlook 2013 freezing when selecting incoming geni emails

What does this mean:

contacting \\geni3-mhcache-com-myheritage.netdna-ssl.com\images

also geni2 or geni0 iso geni3 and \assets at the end iso images

It is a popup window within Outlook 2013 PRO. And the message shows running trying to connect to that weird address shown above alternating between the other points mentioned (geni2 geni0 or \assets). Have never seen something like this.

When selecting an email in the Inbox from Geni Outlook 2013 PRO freezes totally and can only be reset by closing it via taskmanager or the X.

When selecting other emails in inbox there is no problem, but as soon as I select an email from Geni outlook freezes totally!

This error started this week on several clients in the house.

  Outlook 2007 freezing when selecting incoming geni emails. I have to go to the Task Manager to end Outlook.  I no longer wish to receive any emails from geni.

  I suspect it could be some feature within either outlook or geni trying to upload/sync with a cloud service e,g, MS Office cloud service?

  which I btw do not have or subscribe to...

  Hi Henri, can you tell me the title of the email that caused the issues (without opening it)?  Have all geni emails been causing issues in your Outlook or just the one you reported in this ticket?

  Howdy Alex,

  It is only this one email from Geni that causes the problem. Received on JUL25 with the subject line: Henri - You have 30 new tree matches on your Geni

  That specific email is sitting in my Outlook Trash folder - and I just selected it to check what you asked for - should not have done - Outlook froze as before and had to close down Outlook again..

  I would not know if subsequent emails from Geni would behave similarly because I have elected to opt out of any email notifications at all from my Geni account and the accounts of the rest of the family too. So we have not received further notification emails since that 'bad one' from JUL25.

  FYI the last email notification received from Geni (prior to the one from JUL25) was JUL22 with subject: This week's family birthdays - and that one creates no problem. It is similar to all past received notifications from Geni. No problems there.

  No other emails from any other sender creates the same problem as this specific one mentioned from Geni on JUL25.
