Public & Private selection box gone

New profiles do not give me option to make the profile Public or private. Can you fix it?

  Can you please post a link to one of the profiles you'd like to change so I can investigate why you aren't seeing this option? Thank you.

  I am a PRO member and have discovered that some profiles do NOT have the "private/public" tick box.....

  Surely Geni can default to "public" and allow me the choice to make a particular profile private (I cannot understand why I would want to do that in the first place). New members adding to my tree are adding "private" profiles because of their lack of understanding. PLEASE make the default PUBLIC!!!!!!

  It may be due to the living status.  If they are not marked as deceased, then they default to private.  You might be able to get them resolved in the Zombie forum. http://www.geni.com/discussions/76010

  Geni's hands are tied on this one... if a person is living and not a famous person/celebrity, then it will be private.  Unless, of course, that person joins Geni and claims the profile - then they can make it as public as they like (you have control of the privacy of your own profile).
