There is a banner at the top of my Geni screens that says "Activate your family tree by adding 4 more relatives", but my tree is already active, is it not? Clicking on the banner takes you to the tree display, with no explanation of why my tree is not activated. Poor user interface design, please fix it. And explain why my tree isn't activated.

I'm not aware of that message. I know that an account can be semi-activated or "claimed" is the term we often use, when someone has ben invited, logged in using the join link, but not changed their password to fully take control of their account. Not sure if that's what is being described, but I thought I'd mention it.
As the message says: Add 4 more relatives to your tree.
It is just a message that try to guide you to get active and build your tree, and I guess that 4 more relative make it look like a tee. Before you reach that number there are more active help text/guides that pops up all the time and some more advanced functionality is probably hidden by them.
I paid nearly $200 dollars (which is another issue altogether since I don't have access to half the things it claimed it would give me by getting the upgrade) and I can't even merge my tree and I too am getting that message on the top banner?? What is going on here? Reading that this has been asked since 2012 really worries me about my decision to do business with your company!!
I don't see that you're a pro member, but it appears you purchased the MyHeritage data subscription. So you're authorized to see the orange record matches and green smart matches, but the blue matches are part of the Geni pro membership. If there is a specific profile you need assistance merging, you could ask the curators to help.
