When adding profession for a person, the form validation forces you to fill out the year-field for all employment infos. Adding a Space in the year-fields passes validation tough?!? I'm using Norwegian and IE10.

Bjørn P. Brox I just tested filling in just Position in my own Work section using Google Chrome, and saving apparently was successful, but when I opened up that window again nothing was saved.
I tried once again, and when I filled in location in addition to Position it was saved.
I had no problem leaving the date fields empty, and I did the same successful test on Internet Explorer 10.My conclusion is that entering Position only is not saved.
Technically I do however understand why, because if you just want to add another profession you should do that in the comma separated list in the Occupation field.

Jakob Nøtseth Not position, but proffession. Proffession has nothing to do with employments. I'm a computer engineer, but my employment is consultant. -
Jakob Nøtseth Maybe that is what you call occupation by the way. Filling occupation and pressing save sends focus to the first empty year field. -
Bjørn P. Brox There is no proffession field in the edit_work page, only Position .
Which page are you referring to, and using which UI language?
I tried edit the Occupation field only and it worked OK both in Chrome and Internet explorer.

Jakob Nøtseth The field is called "Arbeidsliv" on the "Yrke"-tab using norwegian language (nb-NO). The "Arbeidsliv" translation is a bad one by the way, it has no meaning unless you translate back to english (work life --> occupation?).
