Information on living persons is not publicly available. This information is private and visible to members of your family group - see http://www.geni.com/company/privacy. You may want to log out of Geni, then attempt to view such profiles. The exception is information that you may make public for your own profile, which is configured in your account settings:
* http://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy
* http://www.geni.com/account_settings/permissions
Some members will search for their name in Google and because they have their permission set to allow the public to search for them, will find their profile. Then they click the link in Google and they see all their info (because they're logged into Geni as themselves) and assume this is what the public can see, which is not the case.
My personal information is being made public. I want my information and that of my parents to be private. This is what I found on Google :
https://www.myheritage.com/names/mary_strovink-daukas
Mary (Lynn) Lynnette Strovink-Daukas (born Strovink)
Mary (Lynn), Lynnette Strovink-Daukas was born to Florian (Bud), Augustus Strovink and Ruby, May Barker.
Your parents names are public because they are deceased and that is the default on profiles marked as deceased, but that can be changed by editing the profile and selecting private. Your name is searchable because of your permissions: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/permissions
Uncheck "Let the public search for me (profile privacy settings apply)"
Also review https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy
I also see you have a pending merge with your old tree. I'll approve that for you and get it merged.
Do note that results in Google and MyHeritage are cached and may take time for the privacy changes to propagate to these other sites.
You probably also want to do this:
In your Account Settings, click “Managed Profiles”. Uncheck the checkbox next to “Include private profiles I manage in MyHeritage SuperSearch™"
