I will send you a couple of screen shots which I hope are self explainable.
When I want to make a documentation with screenshots for relatives the blue dots simply nerve.
Therefore I would like to have the opportunity to turn them off: a simple box in "references" (blue box on/off).
Why? Some blue boxes can never be turned off because of "privacy" or because the "owner"
is dead or never will respond or because of an orphan tree. Therefore I will
drag along with an ugly tree and a lot of unresolved blue dots and conflicts.
Do you think that this is ok?
The blue dot, privacy/puplic policy is rather complicated and the default values seem to be set wrong
and many users are not able (including me) to handle all privacy settings.
If somebody who was born 1740 but you do not know when he/she died this person is still
alive and therefore "private" . Please fix this bug. Would you please explain why somebody who died in 1850 is declared
a "private" or even "living" person. I think that this happens because of sloppy software and sloppy default values.
( this seems to happen mostly with gedcom-imports.)
This is all very disappointing keeping in mind that I have entered 80% of my profiles one by one
and decent research. Not copied, no gedcoms.
I want you to make a little box in "preferences". Blue box on/off.
Please answer with a timeschedule.
Best regards
