Cookies / numerous websites try to open

I've had issues with Geni for a while. When navigating in Geni in general, other web-pages keep popping up. I have blocked for unwanted sites to appear, but still they seem to find their way through the system. Because I have blocked "unwanted sites" they appera only as blank pages.

The amount of blank pages that appear prevents me from working in Geni, as 10-30+++++ blank sites pop up uncontrollably. This only appears to be a problem on Geni, - or rather, the problem starts when logging in to Geni. I have had my PC cleaned, and entered several other websites without this problem appearing, but as soon as I log in to Geni it starts happening, and the problem continues after logging out and/or trying to enter other websites.

Any clues as to what this may be, and/or how to solve this issue?

In advance, thank you for any feedback, as I find using Geni impossible as is.

It is possible that it could be triggered by Geni (or one if it's technologies), but I can say it is not caused by Geni. This is definetly a problem with your computer. It sounds like a very common browser based infection, which could be tied to any number of things or technologies. For example, your computer may have an infection in Adobe Flash, which is a technology that is used on Geni but not many top sites. I'd suggest trying a different web browser as often infections are tied into a specific browser - some options: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge

If you're still having an issue, then it may be deeper in the PC. The cleaning didn't quite get it all out.
