What does Geni basic offer?

Hi everyone.

I just created my account yesterday and imported my Gedcom. I reveived a match, but I can’t do anything about it. I can’t link it to my account, I can’t see it’s profile: nothing.

i created my account just for that “world tree” that you talk so much about but I can’t use it. And I don’t have the money to subscribe to Geni Pro. So really: what can Geni Basic offer me? What can I do with it? Because as it is, it’s worst than my other 2 website than I’m in, so I’m going to delete my tree and account if it can’t give me anything.

  Correction: I can match with other profile for certain profile but other ask me to become Pro. I don’t understand why.

  and secondly Geni has 200 or more Curators that are unpaid and are willing to help https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229706767-How-can-I-contact-a-Curator- for example to connect your tree with the big tree.

  Geni basic users can only use the Geni search screen for profiles that they manage or that are managed by one of their collaborators, so they will need an external search engine like Google to find other profiles (but those will only find public profiles)

  So starting as a basic user is a bit harder, but if you collaborate with enough other users that are working in the same part of the tree you will be able to find most profiles with the Geni search screen.

  A PRO account does not have this limitation, so it makes searching a lot easier. It is possible to try PRO for free, but it would be wise to do that only after you became familiar enough with Geni to make optimal use of it and that could take some time.
