Geni Support Team Hi, the reason you were unable to edit your son's profile is because he had claimed his account. We see that he is inactive and hasn't logged in in sometime, so we've run an inactive user task so that you can maintain his profile. Please try editing his profile again.
When we looked at the tree, we see that Sergie Ferrari-Iatus's profile is showing the black bar and year of death on the tree display. Are you still experiencing this issue?

Lily Poulson Geni has made it impossible to add a date of death. I spent over an hour trying to add my cousin's death date. Geni gave me back management. I tried to delete her email (not possible) and there is no way to add date of death. What is the point in having management of my family tree when I can't update it?

Geni Support Team Hi Lily, if your relative claimed their account with an email address, you will need to report their profile as Deceased via the Actions button. Once our customer service team receives the report, they can assist with unclaiming the account so that you may update it to reflect your relative's passing.
