I was persuaded to try Geni as a supplement to the subscription I've had for many years on MyHeritage and thought I could try it for 1 year. I registered on Geni, i.e., created an account and only added myself to the tree. Then I copied all the data from MyHeritage into a GEDCOM file and imported the file into Geni. After the import, it turns out that much data has not been transferred into the tree. This particularly applies to people further forward in time and those who are furthest back in time. I had thought about trying again by deleting all the data I have in Geni and attempting the import once more. Based on what I've found out, this is not possible, and I would have to add all the missing people again manually. In my opinion, this is hopeless, and if I cannot get all the data from MyHeritage imported, I cannot see that I have any use for Geni. Are there ways to get a correct import and start over, or would the result be the same if I were to try again?

Geni Support Team Hi Leif, the GEDCOM importer is designed to stop importing once duplicates are detected. You will need to resolve the duplicates before the import will continue. Please go to your GEDCOM dashboard https://www.geni.com/gedcom and review the branches where the import as paused and resolve the matches.
