"Follow" button doesn't work

I have had 2 emails from Geni suggesting I follow Portal projects on Geni (USA and UK). When I click on the links in the email, they load Web pages with two buttons, "Follow" (highlighted in blue), and "Do not follow" (not highlighted).
However, when I click on the "Follow" button, nothing happens. I am on a 2021 MacBook Pro, MacOS Monterey 12.0.1, and i have tried in in both Safari v 15.1, and Chrome v 96.0.4664.110.
