Merge not going through

Hello,

I tried to merge my borther's profile (6000000006664705931) with another one that there is for him (6000000201036385851). After the merge attempt, he showed up as my half-brother (same father, different mother). I approved the merge and he approved the merge, but it did not go through.  I tried to get help from the curators, but they said that Ignacy needs to approve the merge (which - again - he already did). They were able to change him from my half-brother to by full brother, but now it shows up as two brothers with the same name instead of one person. The merge still shows as unresolved even though we both approved it (and so did the curator).

Please help.

  Hi Wiktor, this seems to be a bug. We've forwarded this to our engineers to investigate further.

  Hi Wiktor, after taking a closer look, we found that the profile 6000000006664705931 is listed as born in 2009. The profile 6000000201036385851 is claimed with a location in Illinois, where our minimum user age is 18. Thus, the merge cannot be completed because it would mean the user is under 18. 

  We are modifying the code to state this explicilty in the red warnings at the bottom.

  Thank you, that does make sense and I finally understand why the merge did not work correctly. What can be done in this case? If we cannot merge the two profiles, can we at least remove the second profile, so that the tree does not include two brothers with the same name? I tried and am unable to remove the second profile.

  Hi Wiktor, unfortunately, now that we know your brother is under the age of 18 and is in Illinois, we will need to close his account. Once the account is closed, you will be able to complete the merge. You can re-invite your brother once he turns 18.
