I had the following in my Display Name field:
Mildred "Sis" Fiestal
However, it didn't parse the double-quotes correctly and did the html interpretation of that character: "
If you test around with double quotes in that field and see the display in the "shortest relationship path found" display at the top, you'll see the issue.
