Natalie MacLees I suspect that since you can't edit the profile of someone you entered, that you invited them to Geni and they accepted your invitation. Once someone joins Geni, you won't be able to edit their profile any longer - each user is n charge of his or her own profile. If your relative is willing, there is an option in Account Settings that they can check to allow family members to edit their profile. Otherwise, your relative will have to make updates to his/her middle name themselves.

Tamar Weinberg That's a very very very big oversight, since I'm trying to edit a relative who is deceased and I have no control over the account *even though I added them*. Geni is sending messages to my entire family that they're celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary but he's been dead for 2 years.
Please fix this.

Tamar Weinberg So nobody wants to get back to me on this? Pretty sad...

Natalie MacLees Tamar, If you have a relative who is deceased and you cannot edit their profile, you may report them as deceased. Go to their profile page, and select 'Report' from the Actions menu at the top right. Then select your reason for reporting and we will take care of updating the profile for you.

Charles Edmonds Hi Tamar
If you have a relative that is deceased you need to report the profile as deceased and the status will be changed and other family members can then edit the profile. You can use this FAQ for instructions http://help.geni.com/entries/20470882-how-do-i-report-a-profile-as-deceased
