Geni Support Team Hi, this is because your father has claimed his account with his email address. This means that he will need to log into his account himself to complete the merge.

Menachem Galan Dear Geni, The answer of the Geni Support is not applicable when the Dad passed away and cannot send an email. Does Geni have contacts with Heaven? It happened to me with my late cousin who added his email in the past when he was alive, prior to his transfer into heaven.
Geni must find a better solution for such cases.

In the dropdown, choose "Deceased" and leave a comment. Once our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to unclaim the account so that you may edit his profile to reflect his passing.

My father is alive and well, God willing, up to 120 years old.
We managed to overcome the problem.
By contacting the person who opened the duplicate profile, he deleted it after a request I made from him. -
